Y'know, I had to walk three miles home from my ballet studio today because my car is in the shop and I couldn't get a ride from my rehearsals and as I'm finally getting to my street corner and totally exhausted (I walked home in flip-flops, no less), these two guys in a truck drove by and the one yelled "fag" and all I could do was think to myself, "What the hell?" and then, "I hope the light changes before I get to it, so they drive off before I get to the corner," and in that instant I was so disappointed in myself because normally I would have been infuriated and confrontational and I would have put those ignorant fools back in their place, but I let myself become a victim...we can't just lie down and allow others to continue to persecute us because of their own inability to understand and accept. We can't allow ourselves to become silent victims to hatred and discrimination, and that's why I'm so glad that you posted this. It reminded me that I have a voice, adn that I have to use it not only for myself, but for all homosexuals. Your words are powerful and resonated with everything I think to myself and feel everyday.

Totally. I heard this line somewhere, "There are a lot of miserable people here. Miserable people have to make sure that everyone else is miserable, too." Seems to ring true for a lot of those kind of people. Fortunately, there are a lot of good people out there, too. ^__^

if i get called a dyke, one more time....grrr..
even my teachers look at me funny, and disrespect me during class!
i just wish everyone would leave me alone...XP

I have one teacher whose really great though. When we were talking about it, she said she didn't care I was a lesbian, she likes me because of the person I am. Those are the ones that really count.

I hope you can find a teacher or someone like that for you.
